RESOLUTION DISSOLVING INACTIVE ADVISORY BOARDS AND COMMITTEES, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on January 6, 2020, the Board passed Resolution No. R20200020, adopting a Passaic County Administrative Code (“Administrative Code”), which was last amended on January 7, 2026, by Resolution No. R-26-0002; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 2.5 of the Administrative Code, and various statutory authority, the Board has the authority to create advisory boards and committees to “study the functions and service in their area of concern” and counsel the Board of various topics and policy areas affecting County residents; and
WHEREAS, a review by the Office of the County Administrator has identified the following advisory boards and committees which are no longer active or operational:
• Citizens Advisory Committee on Energy Isses;
• Citizens Advisory Committee on Transportation;
• Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Committee;
• Correctional Advisory Board;
• Preakness Healthcare Center Board of Managers;
• Passaic County History & Tourism Board; and
WHEREAS, because the above-referenced advisory boards and committees no longer serve a functional purpose, the Assistant County Administrator has requested that they be dissolved by the Board; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 25, 2026 Administration & Finance Committee meeting, and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby dissolves the following inactive boards and committees:
• Citizens Advisory Committee on Energy Isses;
• Citizens Advisory Committee on Transportation;
• Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy Committee;
• Correctional Advisory Board;
• Preakness Healthcare Center Board of Managers; and
• Passaic County History & Tourism Board.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
