RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO SOME’S UNIFORMS, INC., TO PURCHASE THIRTY (30) PROTECTIVE VESTS FOR THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Passaic Board of County Commissioners (hereafter “Board”) is vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the governing bodies of two or more contracting units may provide by a joint agreement for the provision of the performance of goods and services to be used by their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the County is a member of the Bergen County Cooperative Contract Purchasing System #11BECCP, a joint cooperative pricing system, offering competitive pricing for various goods and services established pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, et seq.; and
WHEREAS, the Bergen County Cooperative issued and awarded a contract to multiple vendors, including Some’s Uniforms, Inc., for Uniform Apparel, Protective Clothing, Footwear and Accessories, under Contract #BC-Bid-23-43; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office is recommending that the Board authorize an award of contract to Some’s Uniforms, Inc., to purchase thirty (30) Odin Vests with Soft Armor SLXIIIA Ballistic Package and Tubes with Rifle Plates, PVC Panel Package and Custom Kangaroo AR Pouch and 2 Pistol Magazine pouches, in an amount not to exceed seventy-five thousand five hundred seventy-four dollars and twenty cents ($75,574.20); and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account Nos. 5-01-22-130-002-223, T-22-56-850-012-803, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2025 and/or subsequent years’ County budget (s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the July 8, 2025 meeting of the Law and Public Safety Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the award of contract to Some’s Uniforms, Inc., to purchase thirty (30) Odin Vests with Soft Armor SLXIIIA Ballistic Package and Tubes with Rifle Plates, PVC Panel Package and Custom Kangaroo AR Pouch and 2 Pistol Magazine pouches, in an amount not to exceed seventy-five thousand five hundred seventy-four dollars and twenty cents ($75,574.20).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Board are authorized to execute the contracts and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
