RESOLUTION AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. R-26-0714 AUTHORIZING AN AWARD OF CONTRACT TO DENVILLE LINE PAINTING, INC., FOR THE 2026 LINE STRIPING PROGRAM ALONG VARIOUS COUNTY ROADWAYS, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (the “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) are vested with decision making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the governing bodies of two or more contracting units may provide by a joint agreement for the provision of the performance of goods and services to be used by their respective jurisdictions; and
WHEREAS, the County is a member of the Morris County Cooperative Pricing Council, which awarded a contract for Traffic Striping on Roadways, Contract Number MCCPC #36 to Denville Line Painting, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, on August 11, 2026, the Board passed Resolution No. R-26-0714, authorizing an award of contract to Denville Line Painting, Inc., for the 2026 Line Striping Program, in an amount not to exceed two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00); and
WHEREAS, the award of contract to Denville Line Painting, Inc, for the 2026 Line Striping Program, should have been an award in an amount not to exceed three hundred sixty thousand dollars ($360,000.00), and the Passaic County Engineer is recommending that the Board amend Resolution No. R-26-0714 accordingly; and
WHEREAS, funds are available in Account Nos. T-20-56-880-018-802, T-20-56-880-018-814, and C-04-55-194-005-901, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2026 and/or subsequent years’ County budget(s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the July 29, 2026 meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-10, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic is authorizing an amendment to Resolution No R-26-0714 dated August 11, 2026, authorizing an award of contract to Denville Line Painting, Inc., in an amount not to exceed two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the award of contract to Denville Line Painting, Inc. to provide new line striping at various locations along County roadways for the 2026 Line Striping Program shall be in an amount no to exceed three hundred sixty thousand dollars ($360,000.00).
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of the Board of County Commissioners, the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Purchasing Agent are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
