RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PURCHASING AGENT TO ADVERTISE AND RECEIVE BIDS FOR THE 519 RINGWOOD AVENUE VETERANS HOUSING PROJECT ON BEHALF OF THE PASSAIC COUNTY AFFORDABLE HOUSING CORPORATION, PURSUANT N.J.S.A 40A:11-23, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Affordable Housing Corporation seeks to undertake the 519 Ringwood Avenue Veterans Housing Project, which will provide affordable housing for seniors and veterans; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to authorize the Passaic County Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids for the 519 Ringwood Avenue Veterans Housing Project on behalf of the Passaic County Affordable Housing Corporation; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq., the County shall publish the advertisements for construction bids in an official newspaper of the County, sufficiently in advance of the date fixed for receiving the bids to promote competitive bidding, but in no event less than ten (10) days prior to such date; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at January 10, 2024 Administration & Finance Committee meeting, and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-23, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the Passaic County Purchasing Agent to advertise and receive bids for the 519 Ringwood Avenue Veterans Housing Project.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Purchasing Agent and Director of the Board are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
