RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A PURCHASE FROM SHI INTERNATIONAL CORP., FOR THE ANNUAL RENEWAL OF DELL ISILON FOR NETWORK HIGH VOLUME STORAGE, BACKUP, AND ARCHIVING FOR THE PASSAIC COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A: 11-12.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:11-12, et seq., the County may, without advertising for bids, or having rejected all bids obtained pursuant to advertising thereof, purchase any goods or services under any contract or contracts for such goods or services entered into on behalf of the State of New Jersey by the Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of Treasury; and

 

WHEREAS, SHI International Corp. submitted competitive pricing for M0483 - Computer Equipment, Peripherals & Related Services, Master Blanket Purchase Order 24-TELE-71883, to the State of New Jersey, Division of Purchase and Property in the Department of Treasury; and

 

WHEREAS, SHI International Corp. provided a quote to the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office for the purchase of a Dell Isilon annual renewal for the Office of Information Technology Division’s network high-volume storage, backup, and archiving, in the amount of forty-seven thousand four hundred five dollars and ninety-three cents ($47,405.93) which is being recommended for approval by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office; and 

 

WHEREAS, from time-to-time State Contract and Cooperative Contract members change due to renewals or addition of essentially similar products; and

 

WHEREAS, funds are available in Account No. 6-01-22-130-002-213, or any other account that may be deemed appropriate by the Chief Financial Officer or his designee, and the availability of funds has been contingently certified by the Chief Financial Officer subject to sufficient funds being appropriated by the Board in the 2026 and/or subsequent years’ County budget (s), which is attached to and made part of this Resolution

 

WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the September 15, 2026, meeting of the Law and Public Safety Committee and is recommended to the Board for approval.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-12, the Passaic County Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes a purchase from SHI International Corp, for the purchase of a Dell Isilon annual renewal for the Office of Information Technology Division’s network high-volume storage, backup, and archiving, in the amount of forty-seven thousand four hundred five dollars and ninety-three cents ($47,405.93), as recommended by the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office.

 

LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the above award to SHI International Corp. is contingent upon SHI International Corp. being awarded new contracts pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:11-12, in the year 2027.

 

LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, Purchasing Agent, and Director of the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
