RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER TO EXECUTE BUDGET TRANFERS BETWEEN 2024 BUDGET APPROPRIATIONS, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:4-59

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) adopts a yearly budget in compliance with N.J.S.A. 40A:4-1, et seq., commonly known as the Local Budget Law; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-59, if during the first three (3) months of any fiscal year, the amount of any appropriation reserve for the immediately preceding fiscal year is insufficient to pay the claims authorized or incurred during said preceding year which were chargeable to said appropriation, and there shall be an excess in any appropriation reserve over and above the amount deemed to be necessary to fulfill its purpose, the governing body may, by resolution adopted by not less than a 2/3 vote of the full membership thereof, transfer the amount of such excess to an appropriation reserve or an appropriation in the prior budget deemed to be insufficient to fulfill its purpose or for which no reserve was provided; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer is recommending the below budget transfers to be made between 2024 budget appropriations; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the February 12, 2025 Administration and Finance Committee meeting, and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-58, that the following transfer of budget appropriations within the 2024 County budget are approved:
