RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGES WITH RESPECT TO THE COUNTY’S DIVISION OF WEATHERIZATION & HOME ENERGY, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and

 

WHEREAS, to better align programs and enhance operational and service efficiencies, the County Administrator is recommending that the Division of Weatherization & Home Energy, which is currently under the Department of Senior Services, Disability & Veterans Affairs, be split into two separate divisions: 1) a Division of Weatherization, which shall be moved under the Department of Health Services; and 2) a Division of Assistance & Resources, which shall be moved under the Department of Human Services; and

 

WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the August 26, 2026, meeting of the Administration and Finance Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.

 

                      NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the reorganization of the Division of Weatherization & Home Energy into two separate divisions: 1) a Division of Weatherization within the Department of Health Services; and 2) a Division of Assistance & Resources within the Department of Human Services. 

 

                     LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator and Director of the Board are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
