RESOLUTION DESIGNATING MATTHEW P. JORDAN, ESQ. AS THE ACTING COUNTY ADJUSTER, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 30:4-34 AND SECTION 5.10 OF THE PASSAIC COUNTY ADMINISTRATIVE CODE

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 30:4-34, the County is required to have a County Adjuster who shall represent the County at civil commitment hearings and perform such other functions as required by law; and
WHEREAS, in the event of a vacancy in the position of County Adjuster, Section 5.10 of the County’s Administrative Code provides that the County Administrator or a designee shall perform the required functions of the County Adjuster until a replacement is qualified and appointed; and
WHEREAS, due to the retirement of the County Adjuster, Domenick Stampone, there is a vacancy in the position of County Adjuster, so the County Administrator, Matthew P. Jordan, Esq., will be designated as the Acting County Adjuster; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the July 29, 2026, Administration and Finance Committee meeting, and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 30:4-34 and Section 5.10 of the Passaic County Administrative Code, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic designates Matthew P. Jordan, Esq. as Acting County Adjuster until a replacement is qualified and appointed.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, Acting County Adjuster, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
