RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF CULTURAL & HISTORIC AFFAIRS TO ACCEPT A GRANT UNDER THE ARTS REGRANT PROGRAM FROM THE PASSAIC COUNTY CULTURAL HERITAGE COUNCIL, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and 

 

 

                     WHEREAS, the Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs (hereafter “Department”) was informed by the Passaic County Cultural Heritage Council that it was eligible to apply for and accept the grant under the Arts Regrant Program, in the amount of ten thousand three hundred dollars ($10,300.00); and 

 

                     WHEREAS, the Department will be using this grant award to provide arts programming to be hosted at the Passaic County Arts Center at the John W. Rea House in the Borough of Hawthorne; and

 

                     WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the January 10, 2024, meeting of the Public Works Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.

 

                     NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic authorizes the acceptance of a grant under the Arts Regrant Program from the Passaic County Cultural Heritage Council, in the amount of ten thousand three hundred dollars ($10,300.00).

 

                     LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Department of Cultural & Historic Affairs, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized execute any documents for the grant application and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
