RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PATERSON, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, DIVISION OF HEALTH, AND THE COUNTY OF PASSAIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO FURNISH TUBERCULOSIS CONTROL SERVICES TO WOODLAND PARK, PROSPECT PARK, WANAQUE, WEST MILFORD, AND HALEDON, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40A:65-1, ET.SEQ.

 WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) are vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Health Services (hereafter “Department”) is responsible for protecting and promoting the health of approximately 525,000 residents of the County; and

                     WHEREAS, the Department desires to contract for the furnishing of Tuberculosis Control Services of a technical and professional nature by the City of Paterson, provider, to the County of Passaic, recipient, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 26:3A2-1, et.seq. and N.J.S.A. 40A:65-1, et.seq., and for towns of Woodland Park - two thousand and 00/1000 ($2,000.00) dollars; Prospect Park - two thousand and 00/100 ($2,000.00) dollars; Wanaque - two thousand and 00/100 ($2,000.00) dollars; West Milford - five hundred and 00/100 ($500.00) dollars; Haledon - two thousand and 00/100 ($2,000.00) dollars, for a total of eight thousand five hundred and 00/100 ($8,500.00) dollars, for a contract period of January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026; and

                     WHEREAS, the Department is requesting that the County enter into an Agreement (copy attached) between the City of Paterson, Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health and the County of Passaic Health Department, as aforesaid; and

WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the April 29, 2026, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and

                     NOW THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:65-1, et.seq. the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (hereafter “Board”) hereby authorizes the Agreement between the  City of Paterson, Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Health, and the County of Passaic Health Department to furnish Tuberculosis Control Services for the following towns:  of Woodland Park - two thousand and 00/1000 ($2,000.00) dollars; Prospect Park - two thousand and 00/100 ($2,000.00) dollars; Wanaque - two thousand and 00/100 ($2,000.00) dollars; West Milford - five hundred and 00/100 ($500.00) dollars; Haledon - two thousand and 00/100 ($2,000.00) dollars, for a total of eight thousand five hundred and 00/100 ($8,500.00) dollars, for a contract period of January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026; and

                     LET IT FURTHER BE RESOLVED, that pursuant to NJ.S.A. 40A:65(b), a copy of the Agreement shall be filed, for informational purposes, with the Division of Local Government Services; and

LET IT FURTHER BE RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, and Director of Board are authorized to take any other action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
