RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A GRANT FROM THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SERVICES FOR SH26016 INTENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT AND PREVENTION SERVICES, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, ET SEQ.

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (hereafter “County”) is a government body incorporated pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1, et seq. and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioners for the County of Passaic (hereafter the “Board”) are vested with decision-making powers on behalf of the County; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Human Services (hereafter “Department”) is an umbrella social service agency concerned with planning and funding services for disadvantaged and homeless citizens; and
WHEREAS, the Department is requesting a resolution to apply for and accept the project funds of SH26016 - Intensive Case Management grant from the New Jersey Department of Human Services benefiting the individuals and families with low incomes in Passaic County in the amount of ninety-seven thousand five hundred and 00/100 ($97,500.00) dollars; and
WHEREAS, the services to which these funds will be applied is as follows:
1. Case Manager (salary/fringe/ICR) - $85,000.00
2. Prevention (rent, security deposit, etc.) - $12,500.00
WHEREAS, there is no match required; and
WHEREAS, the grant period is January 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the October 21, 2025, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval; and
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Department of Human Services to apply for and accept a grant from the New Jersey Department of Human Services for SH26016 - Intensive Case Management in the total amount of ninety-seven thousand five hundred and 00/100 ($97,500.00) dollars, to be used for the provision of case management and prevention services benefiting the individuals and families with low incomes in Passaic County, with a grant period beginning on January 1, 2026 and ending June 30, 2026; and
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, Director of the Board, County Counsel, and Director of the Department of Human Services are authorized to take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
