RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PASSAIC COUNTY PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT ADDITIONAL FUNDING UNDER THE CHILD ADVOCACY DEVELOPMENT GRANT, CONTRACT NUMBER 26N00351, FROM THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF CHILDREN AND FAMILIES, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHERAS, the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 the Board of County Commissioner of the County of Passaic (hereinafter the “Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and
WHEREAS, on March 25, 2025, the Board passed Resolution No. R-25-0301, authorizing the acceptance of the Child Advocacy Grant, Number 26N00351 from the State of New Jersey, Department of Children and Families in the amount of one hundred eighty-one thousand, one hundred one dollars ($181,101.00); and
WHEREAS, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s office has been informed by the State of New Jersey, Department of Children and Families, that it is eligible to accept additional grant funding under the Child Advocacy Grant, through Contract #26N00351 Modification #1, in the increased amount of twenty thousand six hundred seventy-one dollars ($20,671.00), with a new total grant award under Child Advocacy Grant, Number 26N00351, in the amount of two hundred one thousand seven hundred seventy-two dollars ($201,772.00) for the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026, which is being recommended for approval by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used to provide treatment services, construction, renovations, equipment, technology improvements, expansion or redesign of the child advocacy centers; and
WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 5, 2026 meeting of the Law and Public Safety Committee, and is being recommended to the Board for approval.
NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office to apply for and accept additional grant funding under the Child Advocacy Grant, through Contract #26N00351 Modification #1, in the increased amount of twenty thousand six hundred seventy-one dollars ($20,671.00), with a new total grant award under Child Advocacy Grant, Number 26N00351, in the amount of two hundred one thousand seven hundred seventy-two dollars ($201,772.00) for the period July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2026.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office shall use the funds received for the purposes described in the application submitted for same.
LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the Board, County Counsel, County Administrator, Passaic County Prosecutor or her designee, and Director of the Board of County Commissioners are authorized to execute an agreement and take any other steps necessary to carry out the purpose of this resolution.
