RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT A RIGHT TO KNOW PROGRAM GRANT, PURSUANT TO N.J.S.A. 40:20-1

WHEREAS, the County of Passaic (“County”) is a body politic and corporate pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:18-1 and vested with all rights contained therein; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic (“Board”) is vested with managing the property, finances, and affairs of the County; and

 

WHEREAS, the State of New Jersey, Department of Health, Division of Epidemiology, Environmental and Occupational Health (“State”), provides grant funding to county health departments to implement programs under the Worker and Community Right to Know Act, N.J.S.A. 34:5A-1, et seq. (“Right to Know”); and

 

WHEREAS, the State has informed the Department that it is eligible for Right To Know grant funding in the amount of fifteen thousand two hundred and thirteen dollars ($15,213.00) for the period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of the Department is requesting that the Board authorize the Department to apply for and accept the above-described Right to Know grant to facilitate the continued implementation of the County’s Right to Know Program; and

 

WHEREAS, this matter was discussed at the May 20, 2025, meeting of the Health and Human Services Committee and is being recommended to the Board for approval.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, LET IT BE RESOLVED, pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40:20-1 et seq., the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Passaic hereby authorizes the Director of the Department of Health to apply for and accept Right To Know grant funding in the amount of fifteen thousand two hundred and thirteen dollars ($15,213.00) for the period from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026, which will be allocated into quarterly disbursements of three thousand eight hundred three dollars and twenty-five cents ($3,803.25).

 

LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Board, County Counsel, Director of the Health Department/Health Officer, and Director of the Board are authorized to take any other action necessary to carry out the purpose of this Resolution.
